Tour Info

This is our most popular 7 night Turkey sailing route along the beautiful coastline of Southwestern Turkey. The itinerary is another perfect combination of sightseeing, hiking, swimming, sunbathing, relaxing, nightlife, and shopping. Fethiye, the blue lagoon at Oludeniz, Kaş, the Kekova sunken city, and Simena castle are the highlights of this sailing trip.
Ava Sail uses traditional Turkish Gulets for all our sailing tours. A traditional Turkish Gulet is a comfortable motorized cruising boat with 2 - 3 sailing masts and sails. They are perfectly designed for maximum comfort for leisure traveling for both long and short distances.
We have an exclusive chef onboard preparing mouth-watering local Turkish food every day. Our meals on our boat weeks are always one of the highlights of the trip and because our tours are so awesome that’s saying something.

Day 1

Your sailing adventure begins in the lovely town of Fethiye where our beautifully crafted Turkish gulets embark for a week of a lifetime. We check onto our gullet in the afternoon and we meet our fellow passengers and crew with growing anticipation for the week ahead. After a briefing on boat life, we set sail to Tarzan Bay. On arrival, we can jump into the crystal clear turquoise water for the first swim of the trip followed by a delicious welcome feast for dinner. We will moor overnight in Tarzan bay. The ropes hanging from the trees means there are no clues for guessing why the bay is named after Tarzan!! (D)

Day 2

After our first night on the boat, we will make our way to the picturesque Butterfly Valley. The stunning valley lies at the opening of two huge looming mountains. Breakfast is served and afterward, you may summon the energy to swim to the beach. For those that want to venture a little further, there is a cute 45-minute walk that leads to a pretty waterfall. For lunch, we will cruise over to the beautiful Oludeniz Blue Lagoon. The most photographed waters on the Mediterranean. Thousands of paragliders jump from the mountain here and watching them soar above is an incredible site. If you are craving this truly heart-pumping experience for yourself, we will organize a jump from Mount Baba Dag for you. It is rated as one of the best paragliding experiences in the world. After taking a dip in the blue lagoon, we will make our way to the legendary St Nicholas Island. You can partake in many water sports in this area and taste some fresh gözleme. This will give you the energy to take the short but steep hike up to the top of St Nicholas Island. On the island, you can explore some ancient Lycian ruins and be rewarded at the top with a magnificent sunset.(B,L,D)

Optional tour: Paragliding over Blue Lagoon

Day 3

After waking to a breakfast spread fit for a sultan and the delightful smells of freshly brewed coffee, we cruise into the crystal blue waters of Aquarium Bay to swim and snorkel. We will spend the morning out on the water. After lunch, we are heading to the picture-perfect town of Kas where we will spend the afternoon and evening. In Kas, you can visit the ancient amphitheater, wander the old cobbled streets, explore the fantastic jewellery markets, or take an optional scuba diving excursion! Shopping in Kas is second to none so save some Lira for bargaining with the local merchants. After a relaxed dinner on board, we will head out to check out the lively nightlife in Kaş. (B, L, D)

Optional tour: Scuba diving in Kaş

Day 4

This morning we awake to breakfast in the harbor at Kas meaning you will have one more chance to dash to the markets to stock up on snacks, sunscreen, Turkish towels, and local handicrafts or indulge in another Turkish coffee to truly wake you up. The perfect way to start the day.
After we set sail we voyage to Limangazi, yet another gorgeous bay. Stretch out on a sunbed with a book or swim to your heart's content. You will have the opportunity to play backgammon and try to keep up with the locals!! Our next stop is the traditional fishing village of Ucagiz. This quaint old fishing port has managed to retain its charm. You’ll want to spend an hour or two strolling through the village. A fascinating feature to look out for is the 2000-year-old Lycian tombs that are found scattered amongst the houses and can even be seen submerged in the sea. As the sun drops we will moor in Aperlai Bay, where we will enjoy a memorable evening indulging in a traditional Turkish outdoor delicacy. This evening will be special as we head to dry land to enjoy a spit roast cooked by a local farmer with all the trimmings. An absolute highlight of the Sailing week (B,L,D)

Day 5

After waking to the gentle sounds of the water lapping the sides of the gulet in this very peaceful bay, we will sail to the famous Sunken City of Kekova, now a UNESCO Heritage site. A swim stop is not far away but we can’t swim over the ruins due to its protected status. Across the bay, we visit the amazing Simena Castle, several hundred years of history, and a glimpse into the country’s Ottoman past. Some of the best ice-cream on the Mediterranean can be found here. After a big day exploring and sightseeing, the boat will dock in Gokkaya Bay offering you plenty of time to cool off with a swim and then relax and unwind on the sun loungers. Caretta Turtles breed in this area and if you are lucky you may get to swim with them. Later in the evening, we can experience some nightlife as we head ashore to Smugglers Inn! Your captain and guide can organize a boat service to ferry you to Smugglers Island to party like a pirate and dance the night away under the stars. (B,L,D)

Day 6

After a leisurely breakfast this morning we will cruise towards Demre and the ancient city of Myra, We hope you’ve all been good this year because Myra is the home of Saint Nicholas, more famously known as Santa Claus, Father Christmas, or Kris Kringle! Why don’t you take an optional land excursion to visit St Nicholas Church and the ancient city of Myra? After another couple of hours, we will set sail to Hidayet Bay stopping at a semi-secret hidden bay for more swimming and snorkeling. Later in the afternoon we pull up anchor and head towards Firnaz Bay, which will be tonight's stop. Dig into the Turkish delicacies that we have all been preparing together today at our makeshift Turkish Traditional Cooking classes, this will make for a huge dinner so we hope you’re hungry, we can score the dishes that the different teams have prepared MasterChef style, with our bellies full and satisfied we can relax on the sun mattresses under the stars. Partaking in these cooking classes means you can recreate a little bit of your Turkey Sailing week once you are back home again, Yum! (B,L,D)

Optional tour: Half day land excursion of Myra; the ancient city and Church of St. Nicholas (min 8 pax required)

Day 7

This morning’s destination is the picturesque Gemiler Beach, where we will drop anchor for a morning of pure rest and relaxation. This beach is surrounded by pines and olive trees and the bay is nicely sheltered from the crowds of nearby Fethiye but well enough catered for that you can make the most of the watersports on offer if you need to get that heart racing. Today there is an optional excursion to the fascinating town of Kayakoy, a former Greek village that is now a deserted ghost town since being abandoned at the end of the First World War. Those who choose to go to the village will be taken there by a van and later return to meet up with the boat as we make our way to another secluded bay. In the late afternoon, we will make our way back to Fethiye harbor to spend our final night onboard.
Tonight, we eat a farewell captain's dinner on the gulet, and afterward, we can venture out and experience the vibrant nightlife Fethiye has to offer. Whether its neon lights and loud music that you like or a quiet bar in a back street, Fethiye has something for everyone. We toast to an amazing week on the yacht and all of the memories. (B,L,D)

Optional tour: Kayakoy, ghost town tour. (min. 8 pax required)
